An explosive device targeted the convoy of ITF President.

The bomb exploded when the convoy passed on the road Kirkuk-Tuz Khurmatu, causing material damages.

Two Turkmen footballers killed and 4 others wounded in Kirkuk northern Iraq

Two footballers from the Bashir sports team were killed and four others wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) blew up near their bus on Friday 11th 2013, the Iraqi police in Kirkuk province said .



The footballers are from Turkmen community and were leaving a stadium where the Kirkuk football championship is played.

"An improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a bus carrying members of the Bashir team after a match they played in Hozayran neighbourhood, southern Kirkuk, on Friday night," police spokesperson said.

The wounded players are in critical condition and were taken to intensive care, he said.

According to police spokesperson, the attack is a part of a "series of terrorist attacks" armed groups launch against Turkmen Community.

Irak: au moins 17 morts dans des attaques

Au moins 17 personnes dont quatre membres d'une même famille ont été tuées jeudi dans les violences en Irak, selon un nouveau bilan fourni par des sources de sécurité et médicales.

Des inconnus ont attaqué le domicile d'une famille turkmène à Kirkouk (nord) tuant un couple et leurs deux filles à coups de couteaux, a-t-on précisé. 

Quatre policiers ont également été abattus dans cette ville alors que neuf autres personnes ont été tuées dans d'autres attaques, selon ces sources.

Head of Turkmen Front, deputy of Iraqi List, Arshad Alsalihi invited the republic president, Jalal Talabani to call heads of the masses for an exceptional meeting to discuss the subject of targeting Turkmen in Kirkuk.

Alsalihi said in a press statement that the republic president has to call for holding an exceptional meeting for heads of political masses to discuss the reasons behind targeting Turkmen in Kirkuk.
Alsalihi previously held the Parliament council the responsibility for shedding Iraqi blood in Kirkuk, considering that the council failure to send a Parliament committee to Kirkuk as being responsible for every Turkmen blood drop shed, demanding the security systems in the central and local government to duplicate their efforts to protect sons of the Turkmen component
