Chief Advisor to President Abdullah Gül for Middle Eastern Affairs Erşat Hürmüzlü denied the allegations made by the Prime Minister of Iraq Nuri Maliki that Ankara was attempting to divide Iraq. Hürmüzlü gave a statement to a newspaper published in Jordan saying, “Turkey is one of the leading countries endeavoring to maintain the integrity of Iraq and peace with its people and neighbors. Turkey is respectful of the demands of the all the community sectors in Iraq. As we know the Iraqi community wants an Iraq where all parts of the community enjoy freedom in a pluralist and full sovereignty.
