Israel hopes to colonize parts of Iraq as ‘Greater Israel’

(WMR) -- Israeli expansionists, their intentions to take full control of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and permanently keep the Golan Heights of Syria and expand into southern Lebanon already well known, also have their eyes on parts of Iraq considered part of a biblical “Greater Israel.”

Israel reportedly has plans to relocate thousands of Kurdish Jews from Israel, including expatriates from Kurdish Iran, to the Iraqi cities of Mosul and Nineveh under the guise of religious pilgrimages to ancient Jewish religious shrines. According to Kurdish sources, the Israelis are secretly working with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to carry out the integration of Kurdish and other Jews into areas of Iraq under control of the KRG.

Kurdish, Iraqi Sunni Muslims, and Turkmen have noted that Kurdish Israelis began to buy land in Iraqi Kurdistan, after the U.S. invasion in 2003, that is considered historical Jewish “property.”

The Israelis are particularly interested in the shrine of the Jewish prophet Nahum in al Qush, the prophet Jonah in Mosul, and the tomb of the prophet Daniel in Kirkuk. Israelis are also trying to claim Jewish “properties” outside of the Kurdish region, including the shrine of Ezekiel in the village of al-Kifl in Babel Province near Najaf and the tomb of Ezra in al-Uzayr in Misan Province, near Basra, both in southern Iraq’s Shi’a-dominated territory. Israeli expansionists consider these shrines and tombs as much a part of “Greater Israel” as Jerusalem and the West Bank, which they call “Judea and Samaria.”

Kurdish and Iraqi sources report that Israel’s Mossad is working hand-in-hand with Israeli companies and “tourists” to stake a claim to the Jewish “properties” of Israel in Iraq. The Mossad has already been heavily involved in training the Kurdish Pesha Merga military forces.

Reportedly assisting the Israelis are foreign mercenaries paid for by U.S. Christian evangelical circles that support the concept of “Christian Zionism.”

Iraqi nationalists charge that the Israeli expansion into Iraq is supported by both major Kurdish factions, including the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan headed by Iraq’s nominal President Jalal Talabani. Talabani’s son, Qubad Talabani, serves as the KRG’s representative in Washington, where he lives with his wife Sherri Kraham, who is Jewish.

Also supporting the Israeli land acquisition activities is the Kurdistan Democratic Party, headed by Massoud Barzani, the president of the KRG. One of Barzani’s five sons, Binjirfan Barzani, is reportedly heavily involved with the Israelis.

The Israelis and their Christian Zionist supporters enter Iraq not through Baghdad but through Turkey. In order to depopulate residents of lands the Israelis claim, Mossad operatives and Christian Zionist mercenaries are staging terrorist attacks against Chaldean Christians, particularly in Nineveh, Irbil, al-Hamdaniya, Bartalah, Talasqaf, Batnayah, Bashiqah, Elkosheven, Uqrah, and Mosul.

These attacks by the Israelis and their allies are usually reported as being the responsibility of “Al Qaeda” and other Islamic “jihadists.”

The ultimate aim of the Israelis is to depopulate the Christian population in and around Mosul and claim the land as biblical Jewish land that is part of “Greater Israel.” The Israeli/Christian Zionist operation is a replay of the depopulation of the Palestinians in the British mandate of Palestine after World War II.

In June 2003, a delegation of Israelis visited Mosul and said that it was Israel’s intentions, with the assistance of Barzani, to establish Israeli control of the shrine of Jonah in Mosul and the shrine of Nahum in the Mosul plains. The Israelis said Israeli and Iranian Jewish pilgrims would travel via Turkey to the area of Mosul and take over lands where Iraqi Christians lived.

Recep Erdogan storms out of Davos after clash with Israeli president over Gaza
Associated Press

guardian.co.uk, Friday 30 January 2009 05.59 GMT
Article history
The Turkish prime minister received a hero's welcome when he returned home after storming out of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland follwing a clashwith the Israeli president over Israel's offensive against Gaza.

Thousands of people gathered at Istanbul's Ataturk airport to greet Tayyip Erdogan when he returned, waving Turkish and Palestinian flags and chanting "Turkey is proud of you".

In a heated exchange, Erdogan told Shimon Peres the Israeli air strikes and invasion of the Palestinian territory were "very wrong" and said "many people have been killed".

The incident came after a lengthy debate at the Davos forum about the Israeli offensive, in which at least 1,300 Palestinians were killed.

Erdogan tried to rebut Peres as the discussion was ending, asking the moderator, the Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, to let him speak once more.
"Only a minute," Ignatius said.

Erdogan said: "I remember two former prime ministers in your country who said they felt very happy when they were able to enter Palestine on tanks.
"I find it very sad that people applaud what you said. There have been many people killed. And I think that it is very wrong and it is not humanitarian."

Ignatius said: "We can't start the debate again. We just don't have time."
When the Turkish prime minister said: "Please let me finish," Igatius replied: "We really do need to get people to dinner."
Erdogan replied: "Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. I don't think I will come back to Davos after this."
The confrontation saw both Peres and Ergodan raise their voices, and stunned ther audience, which included Valerie Jarrett, a close advisor to Barack Obama.
"I have know Shimon Peres for many years, and I also know Erdogan," the former Norwegian prime minister Kjell Magne Bondevik said.
"I have never seen Shimon Peres so passionate as he was today. I think he felt Israel was being attacked by so many in the international community. He felt isolated.
"I was very sad that Ergodan left. This was an expression of how difficult this situation is."
Amr Moussa, the former Egyptian foreign minister who now leads the Arab League, said Ergodan's action was understandable.
"Mr Ergodan said what he wanted to say and then he left," he added. "That's all. He was right." Of Israel, he said: "They don't listen."

Iraq's Provincial Elections: Kurds are positioning their Peshmerga militias in front of the Polling Centres of Tuz Khurmatu

Tuz Khurmatu.

ITC Media Kerkuk
29th January 2009

Yesterday, two police members, one of whom was an officer, have been killed in front of one of the polling centres in the city of Tuz Khurmatu (75 Km south of Kerkuk).
As usual, the identities of the perpetrators of these assassinations are not known.

Using these attacks as a pretext, the Kurds have brought the Suleymaniya battalion from the fourth squad, known as Peshmerga, to Tuz Khurmatu and they have positioned 15 elements of this battalion to each of the city’s polling centres with an excuse of weakness in security. This, despite the fact that a battalion from the Governorate of Salaheddin had arrived immediately after the attack as has been confirmed by an official source from the Ministry of Interior.

When the Tuz Khurmatu branch of the Iraqi Turkmen Front objected to this procedure the Kurds suggested they would position their Peshmerga 200 meters from the polling centres. ITF refused this proposal and demanded the withdrawal of the Peshmerga outside the boundaries of the city.

The Iraqi Turkmen Front asked the government authorities to intervene immediately and together with other political parties ITF demanded that the security of the polling districts should be under the responsibility of the Ministry of Interior in order to ensure the transparency and impartiality of the elections so as to avoid the vote rigging and forgeries committed by the Kurds during the January 2005 elections.

Iraq's Provincial Elections: KRG's new evil tactics against non-Kurdish communities in the North of Iraq

The following is an Appeal from the Yezidi Community-Canada

Dear Members of International Communities, colleagues and friends,

These are the KRG's new developments against the innocent Yezidis of Iraq and in Nineveh Plain in Particular. The Iraq's provincial elections are very important for the minorities in Iraq, which could give them the opportunity to have their voices in the Iraqi governments. But unfortunately the KRG's new evil tactics are preventing any developments forward in the minorities' regions and Kirkuk and Nineveh Plain in particulars. And it is very clear that the Iraqi government is unable to protect the Iraq's minorities, such as Yezidis, Chaldo-Assyrians, Mandaens, Turkmens and Shabaks.

As a minority, we urgently call upon the US, UK, EU, UN Officials and NGOs International Communities to take an immediate steps and right measures towards these injustices and atrocities by KRG against the minority groups in Iraq, and also free Nineveh Plain from KRG's militias ( terrorists). Therefore, the minority groups could live in peace and freedom and select their desired representatives of choice.

These are some of the current incidents we report includes:

1- KRG militias threatening the Yezidis people of Sinjar if they don't vote for Kurdish list, there will be no compensation payment to those Yezidis who were relocated into collective villages in 1975, which the Iraqi government agreed to give 10 millions Iraqi dinars to each family and which already has been given to small amount of the Yezidis in Sinjar regions about 6-8 months ago and the KRG left the rest of the money for its election campaign.

2- The KRG's threatening the Yezidis to cut the salaries of the families of the martyrs, if they don't vote for KRGs.

3- KRG's militias are threatening the Yezidis of Sinjar regions, that they cannot visit Kurdistan to work, visit doctors and hospitals in the KRG, if the Yezidis don't vote for Kurdish list.

4- The KRG's militias' circulation of polling stations already started.

5- The KRG's militias post their political campaign posters at all check points in the Yezidis' regions in Sinjar, and warn the Yezidis to keep quiet.

6- The KRG's using Iraqi army vehicles and Iraqi soldiers of Kurdish origin for the election campaign to frighten the Yezidis and the Kurdish militias to paste their posters on these military vehicles.

7- Cowardly criminal act of KDP's militias and those affiliated to the party attacked the family of Amin Farhan Jejjo (Member of Parliament and head of Yezidis Movement for Reform and Progress) and is known for his patriotism and dedication to the noble service of Iraq and the Iraqis and to fight for the process of injustices against the Yezidis and the division of Iraq.

It seems that this attack came after the submission of a traffic video cameraman to the Independent Electoral Commission of the Office of Nineveh, one of the electoral irregularities of Barzani is to use of the army in the electoral propaganda and intimidation of the people to win the electoral votes.

Here, we call upon US, UK, EU Officials, all International Communities around the world and all honest Iraqis to condemn these cowardly act by Kurdish militias' occupied regions, which can obscure the true voice of the Iraqi citizen to express his/her opinion in the selection of representatives.

TURKISH PRESIDENT INVITES KERKUK ETHNIC GROUPS TO GATHER IN ANKARA

ANKARA - Turkish President Abdullah Gul has called on the representatives of Kirkuk's ethnic groups to convene in Ankara, an Iraqi Shi'ite Turkmen MP from the United Iraqi Alliance said on Monday.

The fate of Kirkuk, an ancient city that was once part of the Ottoman Empire, is one of the most divisive issues in Iraq. Control over Kirkuk, a mixed city of Arabs, Kurds and Turkmen, and the surrounding oil wealth, is in dispute between the city's three ethnic groups.

"The meeting of the representatives of the Iraqi components is related with their approval and willingness to discuss this sensitive issue on a round table with a Turkish readiness to offer the circumstances of succeeding the meeting," Abbas al-Bayati told Baghdad-based al-Sabah newspaper.

Turkey sees the status of Kirkuk as a major concern, and thinks a hurried referendum, which has already been postponed, might trigger ethnic clashes in the city.

Provincial elections will be held in Iraq on Jan. 31.

The regional Kurdish administration will not be holding provincial elections with the rest of Iraq. Nor will the disputed oil province of Kirkuk, where the vote was postponed indefinitely as ethnic groups there fail to agree on a power-sharing formula.

Iraq's Provincial Elections: The Stakes

INTERNATIONAL CRISIS GROUP - NEW REPORT

Iraq’s Provincial Elections: The Stakes

Baghdad/Brussels, 27 January 2009: Elections on Saturday have a potential to make still fragile Iraq more stable by reversing severe imbalances in provincial governance created four years ago, which generated deep grievances and widespread violence.

Iraq’s Provincial Elections: The Stakes,* the latest International Crisis Group report, examines how these elections could refresh local governance, test the strength of various parties and serve as a bellwether for nationwide political trends ahead of parliamentary elections later this year. On 31 January, Iraqis will vote in fourteen of eighteen governorates to elect new councils. Participation by parties that boycotted the 2005 elections is expected to reduce the dominance of governing parties whose rule has been marred by mismanagement and corruption. Even if they have taken a hit in public perceptions, however, they remain strong and well-funded, able to mobilise voters around religious symbols and use their institutional power to direct them to candidates of their choice.

“Ruling parties enjoy built-in advantages that will make it hard to translate severe popular disappointment into clear repudiation at the polls”, says Joost Hiltermann, Crisis Group’s Middle East Deputy Program Director. “They will make use of their superior access to wealth and patronage to influence the vote. Fraud is feared in the absence of international observers. And the opposition is hopelessly divided”.

The result of the 2005 electoral boycott was imbalanced provincial bodies often unreflective of popular needs, as well as an accumulation of local grievances. The councils’ failure to deliver basic services has made voters disenchanted with both the religious parties and the clerics that sponsored them.

This explains the rise of a new generation of politicians untainted by corruption, more technocratic in background, less religious in outlook and more nationalist in ideology. They will come to the job with less baggage and better credentials than the current leadership and might be both better equipped and more willing to make the compromises needed to put Iraq on a more stable footing.

“Whereas the January 2005 elections helped put Iraq on the path to all-out civil war, these polls could represent another, far more peaceful turning point”, says Robert Malley, Crisis Group’s Middle East and North Africa Program Director. “Despite likely shortcomings, they may begin to redress some of the most severe problems associated with the 2005 vote, assuring fairer representation of all segments of the population”.

Yezidi Minority Accuses Kurdish Party of Violations Ahead of Elections

GMT 1-27-2009 0:24:30
Assyrian International News Agency

Sinjar, Iraq (AINA) --- The leader of the Yezidi Movement for Progress and Reform, Amin Farhan, accused last Thursday the Kurdish Democratic Party, led by Massoud Barazani, of election violations in the mainly Yezidi area in northern Iraq, reported Voices of Iraq. The KDP party is accused of using Iraqi army soldiers of Kurdish origin to carry out election campaign work, such as putting up posters in Yezidi towns and villages and giving special protection to KDP officials who hold rallies.

"The Yezidi Movement for Progress and Reform has filed a complaint with the Iraqi Election Commission office in Mosul, providing proof in the form of video tapes of the acts of the soldiers", said Amin Farhan, who is the only independent Yezidi member of parliament in Iraq.

In the 2005 Iraqi elections, Kurdish militias attached to the KDP party rigged elections in minority areas, preventing tens of thousands of Assyrians and Yezidies from casting their votes.

The U.S. Department of State's 2005 Human Rights Country Report for Iraq states:
"In the January elections, many of the mostly non-Muslim residents on the Nineveh Plain were unable to vote. Some polling places did not open, ballot boxes were not delivered, and incidents of voter fraud and intimidation occurred. These problems resulted from administrative breakdowns on voting day and the refusal of Kurdish security forces to allow ballot boxes to pass to predominantly Christian villages."

Pro-Kurdish Block Accused of Buying Assyrian Votes in Upcoming Iraqi Election

GMT 1-27-2009 1:38:20
Assyrian International News Agency

North Iraq (AINA) -- A member of Iraq's parliament, Mr Ablahad Afram, accused on Sunday the pro-Kurdish Ishtar list of buying Assyrian votes in the upcoming provincial elections, reported Baghdad Times. Afram accused the Ishtar list, which is competing with two other lists for the only Assyrian seat in the Nineveh province, of using aid as a means to force people to vote for them.

"The groups behind the Ishtar list warn people that if they attend political rallies of other parties or if they vote for other parties they will lose the food aid which the Ishtar list groups are providing," said Ablahad Afram. "The aid sent to the Assyrians by Western churches and humanitarian organizations is used by some as if it was their own aid."

The Iraqi MP said he has detailed proof of the misuse of aid in the election campaign intends on filing an official complaint with the Iraqi Election Committee.

Kurdmen Plate Parties and their Plans to prevent Turkmen Unity

KURDMEN PLATE PARTIES AND
THEIR PLANS TO PREVENT TURKMEN UNITY…
By: Halil DEMİRCİ

Since the day Turkmen took active part in the political arena of Iraq there were elements that were uncomfortable with their political existence and unity. Those primary elements are Democratic Party of Kurdistan and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. The efforts to stand ahead of , slow down the development of and stop the Turkmen political movement has shown itself from the first recovery days of Iraqi opposition.

The plans to prevent the Turkmen unity have been continuing in the “secure zone” established in Northern Iraq during the Saddam regime before the invasion and in the whole of Iraq after the invasion. “Divide Conquer” policy imposed upon the Turkmen by the Saddam government was sometimes carried out in cooperation with these two Kurdish parties. The tactics to create suspicion, disorder and disturbance among the Turkmen Brotherhood Society, which was active in Baghdad, once upon a time, was imposed upon Turkmen by various methods in Northern Iraq in 1990’s.

Two Kurdish parties, primarily Democratic Party of Kurdistan, put all their efforts to prevent the functioning of political movements which originates from the heart of the Turkmen community and never contradict with the unity and the integrity of Iraq. Despite all these, Turkmen political movement came a long way.

Democratic Party of Kurdistan, which was uncomfortable with the Turkmen political movement in Northern Iraq in 1990’s, came into terms with Saddam and invited Iraqi army an intelligence units to Irbil. Turkmen and Iraqi National Turkmen Party, which is the leading Turkmen political movement, had a severe blow in this operation.

When Democratic Party of Kurdistan saw that this grand operation did not intimidate Turkmen, it started to use another tactic. They gave financial support to some people, who were not respected within the Turkmen community and who were not Turkmen originally, to establish a plate party. By supporting these parties in various ways they put these parties on the fore and showed them as the representatives of the Turkmen.

Therefore, in a short period some so-called parties, which did not have a base, were established. The following parties were: Turkmen Brotherhood Party, Iraqi Turkmen Unity Party, Turkmen People Salvation Party, Kurdistan Democratic Turkmen Party, Kurdistan Turkmen Democratic Movement, Kurdistan Region Turkmen Change Movement and Turkmen Rise Party.

The instructions given to the founders of these parties were to prevent the unity of parties and institutions most of which are under the roof of Iraqi Turkmen Front and still continue the Turkmen political movement. Democratic Party of Kurdistan continued to give various political supports to these rented parties.

Lately, Democratic Party of Kurdistan called upon these rented Kurdmen to take action prior to the City Council Elections and to gain a base in Kirkuk and other Turkmen regions under the direction and information of regional president Masud Barzani. They said they are ready to give any kind of assistance while requesting to prepare for the establishment of a new front against the Iraqi Turkmen Front.

Therefore, all Iraqis should know that these Kurdmen Plate Parties, which lack the Turkmen base, do not represent the Turkmen people in any way. It should be very well known that, the star of these traitors will rise for just some time. " Indeed, morning is their appointed time. Is not the morning near? "(Sura Hud -81)

Turkish PM Erdogan: Hamas should not be marginalized

By Osman BOLU, JTW
Tuesday, 20 January 2009

BRUSSELS - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday claimed that the Hamas should not be marginalized by the international community.Erdogan, speaking on an official visit to the European Union (EU) headquarters in Brussels, said the Hamas group had clearly won elections in Gaza in 2007 and this had to be respected.

Erdogan said in a speech at a European Policy Center conference "we should not be squeezing them into the corner. Hamas should be left the time to show if it was capable of improving conditions in Gaza. If they are not successful they will lose the next time "."If we are to move towards democracy in that region then we should respect the decision of the people who went to the ballot box" Erdogan added.

Hamas has agreed a ceasefire with Israel after a 22-day war in Gaza which left more than 1,300 Palestinians dead. It is argued that Turkey has played a crucial role in persuading Hamas for a ceasefire.

Barack Hussein Obama's Inauguration Speech

Full text: Obama inauguration speech
Barack Obama has been sworn in as the 44th US president. Here is his inauguration speech in full.

My fellow citizens:
I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and co-operation he has shown throughout this transition.

Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because we, the people, have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents.
So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.

Serious challenges

That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.
These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land - a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.

Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met.
On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

Nation of 'risk-takers'
We remain a young nation, but in the words of scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.

In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of short-cuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted - for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things - some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labour, who have carried us up the long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedom.

For us, they packed up their few worldly possessions and travelled across oceans in search of a new life.

For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the West; endured the lash of the whip and ploughed the hard earth.

For us, they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe Sahn.
'Remaking America'

Time and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life. They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction.

This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions - that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.
For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act - not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. All this we will do.

Restoring trust
Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions - who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short. For they have forgotten what this country has already done; what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose, and necessity to courage.

What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them - that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works - whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.
Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. And those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account - to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day - because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.

Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched, but this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control - that a nation cannot prosper long when it favours only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our gross domestic product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on the ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart - not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.

'Ready to lead'
As for our common defence, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our founding fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience's sake. And so to all other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and we are ready to lead once more.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with the sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

We are the keepers of this legacy. Guided by these principles once more, we can meet those new threats that demand even greater effort - even greater cooperation and understanding between nations. We will begin to responsibly leave Iraq to its people, and forge a hard-earned peace in Afghanistan. With old friends and former foes, we will work tirelessly to lessen the nuclear threat, and roll back the spectre of a warming planet. We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defence, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.

'Era of peace'

For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus - and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.

To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West - know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.

To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world's resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it.

'Duties'
As we consider the road that unfolds before us, we remember with humble gratitude those brave Americans who, at this very hour, patrol far-off deserts and distant mountains. They have something to tell us, just as the fallen heroes who lie in Arlington whisper through the ages. We honour them not only because they are guardians of our liberty, but because they embody the spirit of service; a willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves. And yet, at this moment - a moment that will define a generation - it is precisely this spirit that must inhabit us all.

For as much as government can do and must do, it is ultimately the faith and determination of the American people upon which this nation relies. It is the kindness to take in a stranger when the levees break, the selflessness of workers who would rather cut their hours than see a friend lose their job which sees us through our darkest hours. It is the firefighter's courage to storm a stairway filled with smoke, but also a parent's willingness to nurture a child, that finally decides our fate.

Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new. But those values upon which our success depends - honesty and hard work, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism - these things are old. These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history. What is demanded then is a return to these truths. What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility - a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task.

'Gift of freedom'
This is the price and the promise of citizenship.
This is the source of our confidence - the knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destiny.
This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed - why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall, and why a man whose father less than 60 years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath.

So let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have travelled. In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:
"Let it be told to the future world...that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive...that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet [it]."

America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.

Thank you. God bless you. And God bless the United States of America.

KURDISH TERROR AGAINST TURKMENS

Turkmens continue to be targeted, intimidated, arrested and tortured by Kurdish Asayish.

The Asayish continue to commit exactions in TOTAL IMPUNITY.

The following are recent examples of their exactions against Turkmens in Kerkuk:

18 year old Muhanned Naj Aldeen was arbitrarily arrested by the Kurdish Asayish who imprisoned him for several months. They tortured him and released him after cutting off one of his ears. We have just learned that he has been re-arrested by the Asayish a while ago.

Three days ago Mr.Fadhil Ghareeb’s house in Korya was attacked by bombs. This incident has been reported on Turkmeneli TV.

Two days ago Kurdish men opened fire toward Nadjet Kocak Iraqi Turkmen Front Bureau where young Turkmens were holding a meeting, luckily no one was hurt. The Kurdish terrorists were arrested for a short period of time, they pretended that they were drunk and have been released without charges!!!

Brüksel'de yüzbinler İsrail'e 'dur' diye ikaz etti..

Yusuf CİNAL

http://www.yenihaber.be/go.php?go=3010f23&do=details&return=last_news&pg=1

First ladies from Mideast condemn Gaza onslaught in Turkey meeting

Emine Erdogan, wife of Turkish Prime Minister

http://www.hurriyet.com.tr/english/home/

First ladies from Muslim countries Saturday condemned the Israeli offensive on Gaza and called on the international community to end the suffering of women and children there in an Istanbul meeting organized by Turkish prime minister's wife.
Jordan's Queen Rania, Syria's Asma Assad, Qatar's Sheikha Mozah and Lebanon's Wafaa Sleiman joined the Turkish prime minister's wife Emine Erdogan to call for an end to hostilities between Israel and
Hamas.

Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's daughter, Aisha, and the Pakistani prime minister's wife also attended the meeting entitled "Women for peace in Palestine."

"We, in the name of mothers who attach great importance to peace and human life, request that the international community press Israel to stop its attacks," said Erdogan, reading from a joint declaration issued at the end of their meeting.

"Israel must abide by the U.N. resolution (calling for a cease-fire). It must lift the embargo. Israel must immediately withdraw its forces from Gaza," she said.

All participants wore white shawls with the word "peace" inscribed in Turkish, Arabic and English over their shoulders.

Before reading out the joint declaration, Emine Erdogan denounced Israel’s attacks on Gaza, breaking into the tears as she recounted how children were caught up in the war.

"I hope our meeting will be an instrument of pressure on Israel for the immediate halt of the attacks" on Gaza, Erdogan told participants in the meeting.

She spoke of a "humanitarian drama" in Gaza and urged the international community to put an end "to the sufferings of women and children" in Palestine which "attacked the most basic freedom, that of life."

"They were killed while riding their bikes in parks. They sought refuge in schools but were killed there too. They were killed inside mosques. They were taken to hospitals but could not escape the death machines there either," she said.

"I am speaking and expressing my pain as a mother," she added.

Earlier those attending the meeting had met representatives of Turkish aid organizations operating in Gaza.

Israeli aircraft, tanks and ships on Saturday pounded the Gaza Strip into a third week, as a new round of diplomacy got underway to end a war that has killed more than 800 people despite a U.N. truce call.

Renewed call for UNGA to act under Resolution 377

Statement of the BRussells Tribunal, 9 January 2009.

Renewed call for UNGA to act under Resolution 377

The UN Security Council has failed to stop massive Israeli war crimes in Gaza.

Urgent action by the UN General Assembly is warranted and possible.

Israeli impunity must be ended by the collective action of the world community

After almost two weeks of impotence, during which an estimated 790 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed, including 230 children, a further 1080 children among the 3300 injured, the UN Security Council passed — with US abstention — a weak and indeterminate resolution that has failed to force the State of Israel to halt its criminal onslaught on the occupied people of Gaza, encircled and unable to avoid being massacred.

Today, the security cabinet of the Israeli government, proving again its contempt for its obligations as a member state of the UN, rejected this resolution in no uncertain terms, saying that the State of Israel has never agreed that “any outside body” would determine its military policy, deeming the resolution “not practical” — this a resolution that was even biased towards it, failing to mention Hamas, the elected government in Palestine. In other words, the slaughter will continue whether the Security Council demands that it end or not.

Israeli impunity, UNSC complicity

This outcome is proof that Israel acts with systematic impunity. It is also proof, as recognized by President of the UN General Assembly Miguel d’Escoto-Brockmann, that the Security Council is “dysfunctional”, excusing by omission massive and grave human rights abuses when perpetrated by one of its permanent members or their allies.

In doing so, and in the face of overwhelming evidence — much televised — of Israel war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, amounting to substantive evidence of the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people, the Security Council has effectively shown that it cannot — or is not willing to — maintain international peace and security and satisfy the Palestinian people’s national right to live peacefully, free on its land.

Uniting for peace resolution

The world need not endure this horror. A mechanism exists that can take the protection of international peace and security, and the Palestinian people, out of the hands of the Security Council and give it to the world community as a whole, represented by the General Assembly.[1] General Assembly President d’Escoto-Brockmann supports this mechanism and Malaysia already fulfilled the procedural obligation that one UN member state proposes it.

Hours before the Security Council voted on a resolution made so weak and bereft of mechanisms of enforcement that Israel could dismiss it, a General Assembly emergency session was due to be held. There is evidence that this prospect alone forced the Security Council to act, largely to block invocation of Resolution 377. Given the result, and given Israel’s rejection of Security Council authority, it is urgent that this session convenes and imposes upon Israel an immediate ceasefire, according to the overwhelming will of the international community and people everywhere, or face international ostracism.

Israel fears Resolution 377

According to UN General Assembly Resolution 377, emergency special sessions of the General Assembly are warranted to act when the Security Council “fails to exercise its primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security.”[2] The government of Israel itself has ensured the failure of the Security Council to exercise its primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security.

That Israel’s violations of international humanitarian and human rights law in Gaza are so flagrant, and that Israel rejects the authority of the Security Council prime facie, suggests as the only route possible — a last resort for the Palestinian people in Gaza — the convening of an emergency session of the General Assembly where no veto could be invoked, to impose on Israel an immediate ceasefire backed by credible collective measures.

Urgent call for action

As stated by the Palestinian human rights community in their 30 December call to invoke Resolution 377[3]: “The civilian population of the occupied Gaza Strip will inevitably continue to suffer heavy losses without the external intervention of the international community.”

In renewing the call to invoke Resolution 377, we support Special Rapporteur Richard Falk’s demand on “all Member States, as well as officials and every relevant organ of the United Nations system, to move on an emergency basis not only to condemn Israel’s serious violations, but to develop new approaches to providing real protection for the Palestinian people.”

Only the General Assembly can impose, where the Security Council fails, an immediate ceasefire on Israel.

We call upon human rights groups, lawyers and legal organizations, trade unions, intellectuals, the anti-war movement and all people of conscience to support President d’Escoto-Brockmann, demand that an emergency session of the General Assembly be convened under authority of Resolution 377, and to participate in the growing international boycott, divestment and sanctions movement against Israel.

We call upon the UN human rights system to authorize an effective investigation of Israel’s war crimes and crimes against humanity, including its wilful killings, use of internationally prohibited weapons, destruction of civilian infrastructure, targeting of schools, higher education institutions, mosques and civilian shelters, and even international humanitarian aid workers. The UN Human Rights Council has an obligation to investigate these elements of genocide and in doing so contribute to ending it.

As a signal to Israel, we call upon all states to cut diplomatic relations with Israel forthwith and for the High Contracting Parties of the Geneva Conventions to hold an immediate conference to re-establish respect for international humanitarian law. On the basis of its past and present impunity, Israel should be expelled from the United Nations.

All should demand an immediate Israeli ceasefire, the immediate withdrawal of all belligerent Israeli military forces, and the end of the blockade. Upon realization, collective measures should be taken at all levels to end Israel’s occupation of Palestine and to oblige Israeli society to respect the equality of human rights. Until the occupation of Palestine ends, we underline the legal and guaranteed right of the Palestinian people to resist Israeli aggression by all means.

Communique from the Iraqi Patriotic Political Parties and Forces in Britain

Coordinating Committee of Iraqi Patriotic Political Parties and Forces in Britain
Condemns the Israeli Aggression against the Palestinian People

For decades the Palestinian people have been subjected to repeated attacks by the Zionist enemy that has committed more massacres. The latest of these massacres is the brutal siege of Gaza, imposed more than ten days ago, which has led to a new bloody massacre claiming the lives of hundreds of children, women, the elderly and thousands wounded. This aggression represents a grave escalation and confirms that the Israeli side is not seriously concerned about reaching a fair and just solution to the Palestinian issue and continues to resort to procrastination and manoeuvring in spite of all the diplomatic efforts and international mediation and despite a responsible response to these efforts by the Palestinian Authority.

The Coordinating Committee of Iraqi Patriotic Political Parties and Forces in Britain strongly condemns this barbaric aggression, and calls upon the Arab League, the international community and the Security Council to demand an immediate cessation of armed operations by Israel and lifting the siege on the people of Gaza.

We offer the families of the martyrs and victims in Gaza, and the Palestinian people, our most sincere sympathy and solidarity, and reiterate our support for their struggle to get rid of Israeli occupation and to attain their just rights and establish their own independent national state. We also call on the Arab regimes and governments to exert pressure and shoulder their national and Islamic responsibilities in defending the rights of the Palestinian people and to provide all kinds of support and humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza. We call on all the Palestinian parties to exert efforts to end the state of division and to restore national unity through national dialogue and unifying positions in order to strengthen the Palestinian position in all Arab and international forums, and to achieve a peaceful, lasting and just solution to the Palestinian issue.

Başbakan'dan önemli açıklamalar

Başbakan'dan önemli açıklamalar

http://www.bizturkmeniz.com/tr/index.asp?id=15499

Başbakan Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, partisinin grup toplantısında İsrail'in Gazze'ye saldırısı hakkında değerlendirmelerde bulundu.

Dersimizi iyi çalıştık ve her an arkadaşlarımızla bunun değerlendirmesini yapıyoruz.

- Ben buradan Ehud Barak’a, Livni’ye sesleniyorum.

İsrail bunu bir an önce görmelidir.

- Türkiye olarak her zaman Filistin’in yanında olduk.

- İsrail’in saldırıları barış çabalarına darbe vuruyor.TRT KÜRTÇE'NİN YAYINI- İnsanımızın hak ettiği yaşam şartlarına kavuşması için elimizden gelen gayreti gösteriyoruz.

Bizden bunu bekleyenler beyhude beklerler.

- İstanbul’daki Marmaray’a nasıl yaklaşıyorsak, Muş’un Bingöl’ün Van’ın yol meselesine aynı hassasiyetle yaklaşıyoruz.

- Yola çıkarken durmak yok yola devam dedik. Her ilimizi kendi potansiyeliyle ortaya çıkarmaya çalışıyoruz.

Her şehrimizi cazibe merkezine dönüştürmektir.

EN GEÇ 15 OCAK'TA BÜTÜN ADAYLAR AÇIKLANACAK

- Pazar günü teşkilat yoklamalarını yaptık. Bütün illerimizi bitirdik. Hepsi geliyor.
