Dr. Hicran Kazancı, Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITF) Turkey representative participated in a meeting organized by Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV) regarding the situation of Iraqi Turkmen and the recent developments in the country.
In his speech at the meeting Kazancı explained the process which had started in Iraq with the intervention of US forces in 2003. Kazancı said that after the intervention of the US in March 2003 the Saddam regime was ousted and a new order had emerged in Iraq and reminded that the anticipated changes which were supposed to happen after the new constitutional law had passed the referendum had not realized.
Kazancı emphasized that in developed countries constitutional laws were authorities which resolved problems.
Kazancı said that after the US forces withdrew from Iraq various tensions had emerged and assessed the recent events which incurred as a result of the issues between the central government and Arbil.
The meeting which was held in the TEPAV building on the University Campus of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey
(TOBB) was attended by CHP Bursa Member of Parliament Assistant Professor Aykan Erdemir, MHP Tokat Member of Parliament Dr. Reşat Doğru, AK Party Gaziantep Member of Parliament Nejat Koçer and various academicians.
