The chief prosecutor of the supreme court on Friday launched a court case for the closure of the pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party (DTP).
There have been claims that the DTP is linked to the PKK terrorist organization.
The DTP entered the parliament after the July 22 elections when 20 independent deputies elected from the provinces with predominantly Kurdish populations joined the party.
The case comes as pressures built up against the authorities to lift the parliamentary immunities of the DTP deputies and open the way for their prosecution.
